my baby boy is FOUR!!!

so, today is, my son, Ty's FOURTH birthday!!!!

it took me a while to decide what I wanted to paint for it..
not to mention that Ty gave me guidelines.. he said I had to use brown, black, green & white, & that I had to paint "him blowing out his candles"!! haha

after contemplating for a while, I finally narrowed it down to 2 design ideas:
**a few of his favorite TV characters on each nail
or
**the word "FOUR" written all cool (one letter on each nail)

but I was still struggling to choose one, because
on one hand, the characters are cool, & he would love them, but would it say "birthday"? would people have to ask why or would they just be able to look at it & know?

then, on the other hand.. the colorful & funky "FOUR" design, with ballons & confetti would be pretty self explainitory & would scream "birthday".. BUT it just seems generic & unpersonal!!

but then.. I got the GREATEST idea!!!
to COMBINE BOTH designs!!! :)

I am very happy with the way these nails turned out..
& Ty loves them! so that's all that matters!! ;)

when I showed them to him, he said:

"that's not me!"

me: "yes it is.."

Ty: "well, it's not perfect! it looks kinda weird"

haha I love him! ;)

but I did end up realizing that I didn't paint a nose on him lol

oh well.. it's still cute!!! ♥♥

Bestie Quadruplet Nails

so a few ladies from instagram & myself all did matching nails!!

we all got to choose a design, & then we chose 2 colors each..

so, it seems that I haven't posted any nails since my Realtree Camo..
hmmm.. well, this post will fix that!! :)

I've only done 6 manis since those..

first, was my very first "Bestie Twin Nails" with Kassandra aka @beauty_by_kass

next up was my mani for my cousin-Iin-law's baby shower! ♥♥

then it was my "First Day of School" nails for my baby boy's first day of Pre-K </3

also, I did some household chores nails..

of course, I had to do some Gator nails.. first game Iin ONE WEEK!!! xD

finally, my most recent (& current) mani..

my Jaguars!! they have a pre-season game tonight agai st the Eagles!! :)

Realtree Camo Nails

tomorrow is Eric's (my boyfriend) birthday..

so obviously I had to make a mani that was inspired by him ♥♥

we are pretty obssessed with Duck Dynasty & he loves hunting & fishing.. so it seemed inly fitting to do some realtree camo (just like our shower curtain haha)

I've actually been planning on doing theses nails for a few months, now..
but everytime I got around to it, I would syke myself out, thinking it would be too hard & it would end up a big, blobby mess!!

well, enough jibber jabber..

Nail It Magazine submission

so I saw Nail It Magazine post on Instagram, that we could send in pictures of our nails & possibly get featured in the magazine!!!

I did this mani especially for them & emailed it.. *fingers crossed*

today, I've decided to go with a duo of polishes that I first paired on a "client's" nails..

I've been meaning to redo this color combo on my nails ever since!!

colors are China Glaze "Bizarre Blurple" & "Atlantis" (the latter of which, is my FAVORITE polish EVER!!!)

then, after I painted them, I decided they needed some simple designs..

I didn't want to cover too much of the bases, so I went with tiny lime green hearts, but that seemed a little too simple..

hence, the dots :)

over all, I'm pretty pleased with these..

they are cute & a little girly, without being pink!! ;)

so, Monday was my step-mom's 30th birthday..
& tomorrow is her party..

the party was Saturday.. pretty much all I did yesterday was sleep lol

but, here are her toenails, as promised.. she didn' get her fingernails done..

these are a little more simple than I originally planned, because we litterally had about 30 minutes right before the party started! haha.. people were walking in & asking if they were next ;) (mostly guys lmao)

I used glitters as the "sprinkles" on the brown candy.. :)

today, I decided to go with Zebra..
I didn't want just normal black & white..
I thought about rainbow, but decided to use red, orange & yellow.

I'm rather happy with the way they turned out :)

I was especially happy with my gradient, on my accent finger:

so, I have never been the girly type..
I really don't like pink..
& I don't like cheetah, leopard, zebra prints, etc..

BUT, having said that.. I do understand that some girls do & that means that more likely than not, I will have to do some type of animal print nails..

I REALLY need to practice more!!

Hi.

this is my very first blog..

what do I write?

well, how about I start by telling y'all a little bit about myself:

my name is Kayla, obviously, right? ;)
I am 23 years & counting.. (birthday: November 23rd)
I have an AMAZING boyfriend (Eric), who I love with my entire heart, mind & soul!
& we have a 3, almost 4, year old son (Ty) who will be starting Pre-K in August </3

I started this nail art journey in June of 2012 & I never looked back!!
I plan on going to school in 2014, once Ty is in kindergarten.

I am very family oriented.. I have 5 brothers (1 older & 4 younger)
I was raised by my dad.. & my Mema (grandmother/my dad's mom) is my best friend!
my other best friend (aka best bitch), Kelly, is a friend I've had since I was a sophomore in high school!!! she is my soul mate!! we wouldn't know what to do without one another!! she is also considered family!!!

I LOVE football.. Go Gators & Go Jaguars!!!
I love to cook.
& I am a shutterwhore (something I came up with one day lol)
(( camera whore: someone who takes a lot of pictures of themselves... shutter whore: someone who just takes a LOT of pictures, period!! ))
every single wall in my house has at LEAST one picture on it.. but most have 2 to 15.. I have a million albums & scrapbooks!! I thought I was bad in high school, & then I had a kid....... lmfao

well, that's pretty much it.. nothing else is of utmost importance..
